Railcar No. 91® Tea Room Service Staff
The Flagler Museum is currently hiring experienced restaurant staff for the 2024 - 2025 Winter Season. Become part of the Railcar No. 91® Tea Room service team and enjoy a breathtaking work setting, exceptional reimbursement, and agreeable hours, located on idyllic Palm Beach Island. Whitehall is a National Historic Landmark open to the public as the Flagler Museum, offering self-guided tours, changing exhibitions, and special programs.
The Railcar No. 91® Tea Room hosts a formal afternoon tea service inside the iconic Flagler-Kenan Pavilion. The prix-fixe pre-set menu includes a selection of savory tea sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and traditional sweets, all complemented by the Museum’s signature Whitehall Special Blend® Tea and pink lemonade.
We are open six days a week . An 18% gratuity is automatically added to each purchase. Tips are then pooled and distributed via bi-monthly paychecks. There is no alcohol service. The Tea Room operates from the day after Thanksgiving through Mother's Day.
The Tea Room Staff are the face of the Tea Room and provide an exceptional and memorable experience for every guest. This position is a delicate balance of traditional fine dining service and providing historically accurate information while introducing timeless traditions to Flagler Museum guests. General responsibilities include but are not limited to formal hot tea service, sandwich tray delivery, food presentation, tea refills, bagging takeaways, and knowledge of historic information (pertaining to the Flagler Kenan Pavillion and Railcar No. 91). Successful team members will show a dedication to the preservation of the Flagler Museum culture and executing the highest of standards of service for highly memorable guest interactions.
● Two years of documented serving experience in a fine dining setting required
● Professional and polished appearance
● Experience in formal luncheon or tea service
● Knowledge about tea service
● Willingness to learn history about the Museum
● Ability to stand and walk at a fast pace for up to eight hours
● Attention to detail
