Students will explore the incredible innovations of Henry Flagler’s era — from electricity to the telephone — and discover the various types of bridges that helped connect Florida’s coast. Using creativity and problem-solving, students will design and build their own bridges, testing to see which structure can hold the most weight!

In this hands-on workshop, students will explore the styles and materials that defined Gilded Age art, from simple pressings to grand paintings. Inspired by what they discover, students will create their own work of art to take home.

Students will experience daily life in Flagler’s time by learning about the etiquette, fashion, games, and social dances of the era. From practicing proper introductions to trying out simple dance steps, students will immerse themselves in the traditions of this fascinating period.
