Featured is Sargent Portraits of Artists and Friends, a beautiful oversized coffee table book complete with full-color imagery. Most of these paintings were not commissioned works but portraits of friends, family, and those known by the artist. Strapless by Deborah Davis is the story behind one of Sargent's most famous paintings, Madame X — a tale of the woman who was ruined by an artist's decerning eye. John Singer Sargent and his Muse by Karen Corsano and Daniel Williman is a personal family history that delves into the story of Sargent's beloved young niece, Rose-Marie Ormond, and her life cut short by the great war. Ormond was a central figure in many of his personal works.
